Decided this week to start making some hats for cancer patience, I fell in love with this pattern from;
Basic Beanie Crochet Pattern

One down, a few to go :)
I will bring to our local Hospital, when I get a few more made up.

History

I thought I  should start my blog by listing a couple of projects I have accomplished before I had a Blog. I have been trying to keep a record on my Pinterest  board, From My Craft Room

Special Olympics 2012 Scarf Project

They're off to the Special Olympics in style!

Clipping from our Local Newspaper
"Thanks to many local 'knitters', Saugeen Shores' Special Olympians are off  to the National Games in Alberta in style in their 'Olympic Scarves'.
More than 650 Special Olympics athletes will travel to St. Albert and Jasper, Alberta for the 2012 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games being held from February 28 to March 3.
There are eight local athletes in all who will be attending - five curlers, a speed skater, a Nordic Skier and a snowshoe competitor.
The Special Olympics organization put out a national request for 2500 scarves to be made for the athletes, their families, supporters, coaches and volunteers in the powder blue, white and red colour combination of the games.
Spearheaded by Terri Plaunt in Saugeen Shores, several crocheters and knitters, including one gentleman, stepped in to take up the challenge, knitting more than 50 scarves, each unique in design."
I actually did mine in Tunisian Stitch and added the year on one of them. All the Ladies and Gentleman in the back row are my friends who offered to help me make all the scarves. They made some pretty special scarves for some pretty special and wonderful people.

Well I opened my Etsy shop.

Here is what I  placed in the About page
Mom to one awesome daughter and two sweet granddaughters. I am a Maintenance Manager at our local Nuclear Generating Station which I have been employed with for the past 28 years. My mother taught me how to crochet, knit and sew at a young age and I love all of it. Trying to plan for my retirement, a little, I decided to set up an Etsy shop and with a little luck, it grows enough to keep me busy when I do retire in 2 years. :)
Some of the profit from this shop will go towards purchasing yarn to make charitable items. I especially enjoy making hats, mitts and scarves for the less fortunate and preemie clothes.

This is my first blog and my first post, and I have no idea what I am doing... yet.  I am along time fan of websites like Bev's Country Cottage and The Crochet Crowd. So, I thought I would start my very own Blog, to have a place to share patterns that I create for charity and the ones I create to sell on my new Etsy store. So here goes... uhmmm something! :)
